SIFE

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) is a global network of students, academics and business leaders in a not-for-profit organisation active in over 1,800 universities across 47 countries.

Guided by university and business advisers, the students form a student-led SIFE team to develop sustainable projects which create economic opportunity for others. Their projects aim to increase participant:

  • knowledge of entrepreneurship
  • market economics
  • personal success skills
  • financial literacy
  • business ethics.

SIFE students change the lives of others and in the process develop the valuable skills needed to be successful in business themselves. This is coupled with a sense of responsibility towards their community, in which they assume roles of leadership and influence.

Nottingham Trent University's successful SIFE team works with communities and individuals here in Nottingham and on a number of international projects. You can help us contribute to this success, and help sustain and grow the SIFE team. If you have skills, interests or contacts in any of the areas highlighted above, or would like to become involved with SIFE in any way, please contact us.

"Participants tell me it's a great feeling that what you've learned through University studies you can apply out in the real world. They're giving back to the community and to the world while at the same time developing business skills and entrepreneurship skills for themselves."
Philip Clarke - Student Enterprise Adviser, The Hive
