Debbie Bryan

Winner of Nottingham Creative Business Craft Award, Debbie Bryan is a textile artist who designs and makes distinctive knitted/felt scarves and resin jewellery.

Debbie’s stockists are independent fashion and gift retailers in the UK and US who value British made collections of unique character.

The technology and material required to make Debbie’s collections are sourced locally in the East Midlands, supporting local suppliers and manufacturers. Debbie has established and maintained good working relationships with companies who sponsored her during her student career at NTU.

Collaborations with burlesque illustrator Charlotte Thomson and fellow Hive business Bantum Clothing have resulted in the successful limited edition Victorian Burlesque Brooch Collection and Bernie Bantum resin necklace and badge jewellery.

At present, Debbie sells her collections to retailers at the New York International Gift Fair and LaunchPad, Pulse-London. Future plans include showing her work at PURE, London and Première Classe, Paris in 2009/10, with the aim of expanding her UK and International stockists.

With the help of The Hive business course and with the support of my personal mentor I learnt the basics of costing my product range right though to trading internationally and employing design staff.”
