Prime Principle

Prime Principle was started by Nottingham Trent University graduates, David Francis and Chris Scarth.

The first tool they developed was a Classroom Monitor - an ongoing record-keeping and end-of-year report writing tool for primary schools, now being used in over 350 schools nationwide.

The system was the first system of its kind to receive DfES accreditation into the Curriculum Online scheme, with more than 30 schools a month signing up to use it.

The company has won numerous awards including the DTI SMART AWARD and the Nottingham City Council ICT Challenge Award. They were recently short-listed as finalists in the National Start-ups Awards.

Development is ongoing on the next Classroom Monitor line of products and the company has just relocated to larger premises.

David and Chris said of The Hive:

"The Hive not only provided us with brilliant resources, the best local connections, fantastic support staff and experienced business mentors. It gave us the perfect environment for researching, starting and growing our business in its early stages. We know that Prime Principle would not be what it is today without the Hive."
