International training

Working and living globally can lead to training and learning requirements being identified, either as part of meticulous strategic planning or in response to new opportunities and changing demands. The Languages and International Studies team at NTU has a wealth of global experience in teaching, research and engagement with government and industry.

Our internationally educated facilitators and consultantsPDF icon are able to design training and consultancies suited to many needs for all organisations and sectors - ranging from one hour detailed travel briefings, through to language training courses and translation services, to more ambitious contracts and collaborations that will provide the solution to your international dilemma. Our areas of expertise include:

  • Services: translation; interpreting; study tours; country briefings; and short language. Responsive to client needs, our facilitators and trainers are available to undertake an extensive range of international services. In addition to linguistic training and services, we provide international briefings drawing on our international and regional experience and other consultancies relating to languages and international studies education.
  • Languages: Arabic; Dutch; Chinese (Mandarin); English as a Foreign Language; French; German; Italian; Japanese; Russian; and Spanish. From short intensive training in basic language skills through to more comprehensive courses developing the four key communicative competences (listening, speaking, reading and writing). Other languages may be available on request.
  • Country and regional expertise: Australia; Austria; Canada; China; Europe; France; Germany; India; Italy; Japan; Latin America; the Middle East; the Netherlands; North Africa; the Pacific; Russia; Spain; Switzerland; Thailand; and USA. Up to date briefings relating to the changing face of business, society, politics and culture in these areas can either offer key information to those about to work or travel overseas, or focus on new developments relating to your specific areas of interests.
  • Educational consultancies: in the areas of modern languages; international relations; European studies; and exchange and international placements. We bring a particular focus on curriculum design, drawing on blended learning and combining: online provision; face to face delivery; distance learning; in-country study; intensive delivery; and autonomous learning.

Events can be organised either in our state of the art facilities in the Djanogly International Centre (DICe) in Nottingham city centre, or at a national or international location of your choice. For further information please contact Professor Murray Pratt with details of your training or consultancy requirements.
