Emotion and Language
Project title: Emotion and Language
Project leader: Natalie Braber
Description: This project examines the effect of emotion on language. In the past, this has involved examination of modal particles in German as they seem to be markers of emotion that speakers can use within their language. This research has resulted in the publication of journal articles and book chapters as well as being discussed at several conferences. Current research compares the usage of modal particles cross-linguistically, including the examination of German, Dutch and English in collaboration with Dr Nicola McLelland (University of Nottingham).
