Teaching and Learning Languages (TALL)
About TALL
TALL is a start-up level research group that aims to bring together staff in LIS, and more broadly from across the School and College, to consider developments in the teaching and learning of languages. The group will initially meet two to three times during teaching months, and, at a later stage, engage in activities such as: reading key chapters or papers outlining new possibilities; putting methodologies into practice, both in and outside the 'classroom'; and offering a platform for mini-workshops with invited speakers, perhaps in collaboration with Academic.
As members of TALL would span a range of research experience – from publishing researchers, to PhD students, to beginning researchers – its initial scope is primarily developmental. As the group gathers momentum it is anticipated that further possibilities, such as funded projects, may become identified.
