We offer the following courses for teacher training purposes and to support your language development before and during your studies here.
Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes (PEAP)
Course aims
This course is mainly for students intending to study at British universities. The programme of study aims to improve your all-round English language proficiency while developing study skills and an understanding of British university culture. The average class size is 16, or less.
You can apply for PEAP by simply indicating that you need to take the course on your NTU application form. Please ensure that you read the PEAP 2012/13 course finder entry before applying.

- MA in English Language Teaching
- Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA)
- Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages BA Hons (TESOL) within Joint Honours.
University Language Programme
This course is available to all students and for the general public. The University Language Programme enables you to study a language through accredited University modules. We offer modules in Arabic, Dutch, English as a Foreign Language (EFL), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Russian and Spanish. Find out about the University Language Programme.
In-sessional English Language Support classes
These classes are available to all international students studying on degree courses at NTU. They provide focused support in the skills you need to develop your English in your own subject area and you are free to choose the language sessions which suit you best. There is no extra charge for these classes.

Customised courses
