We conduct research that is internationally recognised. Our achievements include:

• 80% of research judged to be of international quality in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise
• a research income in excess of £1.5 million
• hosting a number of internationally acclaimed journals and book series
• an AHRC commended Research Practices Course.
