Equal opportunities monitoring

All job applicants are asked to complete the equal opportunities section of the online application form which requests details on gender, race, religion/belief and disability. This allows the University to gather equal opportunities data at the application, shortlisting and appointment stages of the recruitment process, for the purposes of evaluating:

  • the effectiveness and fairness of the University’s recruitment and selection procedures from an equality perspective
  • the impact of our Equal Opportunities Policy
  • how well our recruitment methods are working and how they can be improved.

Recruitment monitoring is conducted anonymously and your equal opportunities information is not shown to any member of the selection panel.

The University has committed to interviewing applicants with a disability who meet all the essential criteria for a job vacancy and will consider them on their abilities. This is indicated by the use of the two ticks disability logo on job application forms.
