We know that going to university is a big investment, so we make sure you leave us with the powerful skills and experience that will make you attractive to employers. It works. Our students have one of the best employment records in the country. 95% of our postgraduates* are employed or engaged in further study six months after leaving.

Placements and work experience

A placement or year in industry is one of the best ways to make your CV stand out. You'll gain valuable work experience and skills that will really enhance your employability. Our students have spent time in top companies such as Boots, Rolls-Royce, Barclays and Channel 4.

NTU is in the top ten in the country for the amount of students we send on year-long work placements, and many of our courses offer work placement opportunities. We have dedicated Placement Offices with expertise and contacts in a wide variety of industries who are there to give you a helping hand when you start your search.

Students who impress their placement employers are regularly offered jobs at the end of their studies, and the real-world experience and confidence you gain whilst on placement can really benefit your final year studies.

Developing your career

At NTU we regularly host Recruitment Fairs where students are able to meet major employers. If you need some help in creating a strong CV, or even finding a job, our award-winning Career Development Centre can help. They have great advice and are available at any stage of your time at NTU.

Encouraging new businesses

Our Centre for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise - the Hive - has supported the creation of over 250 new businesses run by NTU students and graduates, 70% of which are still trading and prospering today.

The Hive runs many of the courses and training programmes in enterprise skills for students from across the University, which form a vital part of some of our degree subjects.
