Welcome to the LGBT+ Staff Network page. The network was formed in May 2014, and is coordinated by a steering group made up of committed members of staff from across the University. We are pleased to be supported by the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) team.

About the network

The name and definition of the network is intended to be inclusive. We define LGBT+ as including individuals who self-identify as lesbian, gay, bi, trans, undecided / questioning, queer, or those who self-define as any other marginalised non-normative romantic or sexual orientation or gender identity (including, but not limited to, asexual, pansexual, bigender and genderqueer), or who choose not to define their romantic or sexual orientation or gender identity. To join the network, or to find out more about joining, please contact us via email at LGBT+@ntu.ac.uk.

Members of staff who do not self-identify as LGBT+ but who share the aims and values of the network are welcome to join the Allies programme, to find out more please contact the EDI team: equality@ntu.ac.uk.

Events and activities

The network looks for opportunities to raise the profile of LGBT+ equality through key events and activities, advises the University on relevant policies and practices, and provides strategic advice on issues affecting LGBT+ staff in the workplace. You can find out about any forthcoming events by emailing us.
