Student Mentors

Do you want to improve your grades, manage your studies more efficiently or just talk to other students in your School who've already studied at your current level?

Student mentors are second and third year, undergraduate and postgraduate students at Nottingham Trent University. They have been trained to work with other students to offer support for academic writing and maths. They offer group and one-to-one sessions, as well as workshops and drop-in cafe style surgeries.

The scheme is currently available in the Schools which have no other form of writing or maths support:

• Nottingham Business School
• Nottingham Law School
• School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences
• School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment
• School of Education
• School of Science and Technology.

Workshop

Want to learn how to structure your writing effectively and possibly gain some extra marks in your assignments? Student Writing Mentors are running a workshop to give you some hints and tips on how to plan, structure and proofread your work to help maximise your grades.

Drop-in sessions

Student mentors are available daily on the City site and Clifton and Brackenhurst campus to discuss any aspect of your academic writing, maths and study skills to help you perform better in assignments and exams.
