Student Mentors
Do you want to improve your grades, manage your studies more efficiently or just talk to other students in your School who've already studied at your current level?
Student mentors are second and third year, undergraduate and postgraduate students at Nottingham Trent University. They have been trained to work with other students to offer support for academic writing and maths. They offer group and one-to-one sessions, as well as workshops and drop-in cafe style surgeries.
The scheme is currently available in the Schools which have no other form of writing or maths support:
- Nottingham Business School
- Nottingham Law School
- School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences
- School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment
- School of Education
- School of Science and Technology.
For support outside of these Schools please contact the following people:
- School of Art and Design: Ruth Coward
- School of Arts and Humanities: Lisa Clughen
- School of Social Sciences: Sian Trafford.
Revision Techniques Workshop

- City site, Bass Management Centre 307
- Clifton campus, Ada Byron King 107
- Brackenhurst campus, Bramley Building TG6
It is always best to ensure that you have a firm understanding of your course as you go along, but coming up to exam time it is advisable to think about your approach to tackling the assessment and how to consolidate your revision. There will be many things to think about and this revision workshop will help you to get organised so that you feel more confident and in control. We offer advice on time management, getting organised and revision techniques.
No need to book, just turn up.
