Student mentors

Who is the scheme for?
Student mentors are available to support students on an undergraduate programme within the Business School.

Why use student mentors?
Our student mentors are students from within Nottingham Business School who have already completed their first year and have been trained to offer support with academic writing and Maths. Meet the Mentors

Oluseun Debiyi
Oluseun Debiyi

My name is Oluseun Debiyi, however most people call me Seun. I am a forward thinking, second year economics student studying within the Nottingham Business School at NTU.

I am passionate about being a mentor because I want to help students overcome the obstacles I faced while studying in my first year at university. I look forward to working with students and helping them to achieve their overall goals. I will be mentoring in the business maths areas of programmes within the Nottingham Business School.

I have co-founded the NTU Investment Society and after university I would like to go into investment banking or work in the financial sector.

Neha Gorania
Neha Gorania

My name is Neha and I am currently a final year Nottingham Business School student studying Business Management and Accounting and Finance.

I am both a Mathematics and Writing mentor but believe my strengths lie in report writing and portfolios, and MINITAB and data analysis. These skills are essential within my course.

I would like to be a mentor as I can relate to the experiences of students new to university and I can use this opportunity to provide help to those in need.

Stuart Harrod
Stuart Harrod

My name is Stuart Harrod and I am currently in my final year of a Business Management and Marketing degree. Last year I completed a year long work placement.

I want to be a Student Mentor to provide help to students who are settling into the new environment of university. I want to use my experience of academic writing for a Business degree to help students adapt to this style as quickly as possible.

Ioana Nitu
Ioana Nitu

My name is Ioana Nitu and I am currently in my third year studying International Business. The areas of mentoring that I am interested in are academic writing andMaths; more precisely, structuring essays, referencing, and business maths.

I want to be a Student Mentor so that I can help students to become familiar with the different types of writing required at university. I would also like to help students understand the logic behind maths questions.

As a Student Mentor, I hope to help students to develop in some of the areas where I needed help in my first year of university
