Services for researchers
Finding Information
Library OneSearch is a search engine that provides fast, simple access to relevant NTU owned and subscribed scholarly resources. Library OneSearch provides an integrated search of all of our databases, e-books, full text journals, IRep and more. Advanced options are available, including accessing specific databases.
Inter Library Loans
The Inter Library Loans service provides access to items not held in LLR, including books, journal articles and conference papers
Access to other libraries
LLR is a member of a number of collaborative access schemes such as SCONUL Access. It enables staff and research students to borrow material from other libraries. Our main using other libraries web page gives further information and links to other library catalogues.
Bibliographic management
RefWorks is the reference management software supported by LLR. It is designed to help you gather, manage, store and share your references. The software is web-based and can therefore be used both on and off campus.
Special collections
The University holds a number of Special Collections and archives. The main archives and collections are housed in a special store at the Clifton Campus Library.
Registering a new NTU publication
To request an ISBN please complete an ISBN application form,
providing as much bibliographic data as possible.
Publicising your new publication
LLR will create a catalogue record for your new publication, and the data will be used to promote your new title via the Cataloguing-in-Publication scheme and via Nielsen BookData.
Legal deposit:
- NTU is required to submit a total of six copies (free of charge) of any new publication to the British Library and to the Agency for the Legal Deposit Libraries.
- Please supply 6 copies of your publication (within one month of publication) to LLR, who will manage this for you. The material should be addressed to: Resource Discovery and Innovation Metadata Librarians, NTU, Holly Mount House, 34 Clarendon Street, NOTTINGHAM NG1 5JD. Electronic material should be sent via email.
Making (print and electronic) copies available at NTU
LLR normally makes available copies of all NTU-published material. If your title is in print format, please supply one or more copies for our library (using the postal address above). If your publication is in electronic format, and you would like to make it freely available on IRep, please supply a PDF which will be added to IRep (subject to copyright clearance). PDFs should be sent via email.
