There are a number of research units within the centre.

The ICPSM Research Strategy Group
The centre is committed to research that improves the performance of public service managers, transfers knowledge into practice and builds the public sector's capability and capacity. We are involved in collaborative and applied research projects spanning local, regional and national government, the health service, the third sector and public sector partnerships.

The Health and Social Care Finance Research Unit
The provision of health and social care services comprises one of the most challenging issues facing government and society with a seemingly endless demand for services in an environment of finite resources. Furthermore, the magnitude of the UK's public sector deficit and borrowing requirements means that growth in financial resources for all public services, including health and social care, will be extremely limited for the foreseeable future.

The HSCFRU has been set up to research and comment on a wide range of issues concerning the financial aspects of these services.

Research Degrees
The Centre welcomes applications from suitably qualified students to undertake research leading to M Phil and Doctoral degrees (PhD or DBA), available on either a full-time or part-time basis.  Writing a Research Proposal Word icon
