Nottingham Business School MBA consultancy projects
During stage three you will undertake two consultancy projects which allow you to apply the knowledge and understanding you have developed to real business issues.
One week team consultancy project
Working in small teams you will undertake a consultancy assignment in an organisation in the UK. Although the actual subject area developed depends on the nature of the project undertaken, it will have a clear management content with terms of reference established in advance. After the consultancy period takes place you will provide a report and present your findings to senior managers within the organisation.
International consultancy project
This project enables you to apply your knowledge and skills within the international area. Working in small teams you will select an international consultancy project based outside the UK. Students unable to acquire visas will find a project within an international company in the UK.
Working in a global context provides another layer of complexity for managers and developing your skills in this environment is an important part of the Nottingham Business School MBA. After the consultancy period takes place you will produce a project report and present your findings.
"The International consultancy project (ICP) allowed us to put into practice what the MBA had taught us through the utilisation and integration of fit-for-purpose theories. Our ICP company, being a 'global' organisation due to the internet allowed us to appreciate the local-global debate and cultural impacts on HRM and internationalisation process. As a team we were able to evaluate strategies for organisational expansion and finalise the terms of reference through initiation, negotiation and communication for business change and evaluation."
