Programme
Designed to meet the challenges of a dynamic business world, the Nottingham Business School MBA is built around an integrated, three-dimensional curriculum of four stages.
Stage One: Academic and Management Development Induction Programme
An integral part of the course, the induction will include a detailed introduction to the MBA, its content, assessment and introductory team activities with fellow students. The induction also includes academic and business writing workshops and a diagnostic assignment which allows you to practice your skills and receive feedback. The induction concludes with an experiential management development activity outside the Business School.
Stage Two: Core Modules
The eight core modules in this stage provide a comprehensive foundation across all the main subjects of business administration.
Stage Three: Elective Modules and Consultancy Projects
This stage consists of elective modules and two consultancy projects.
- Elective modules are more strategic than the core modules and provide an opportunity for you to study specific subjects in greater depth.
- The two consultancy projects allow you to apply your knowledge and skills to real business problems through a one week team consultancy project in a company in the UK and an international business consultancy project where £800 from the fees are returned to fund the trip. The consultancies are preceded by a consultancy skills workshop with an external expert.
Stage 4: Business project or dissertation
At this stage you undertake a major individual piece of work, either a business project or a dissertation. The programme also includes:
- Personal and Professional Development Programme (PPD)
- Career Management Programme - designed to assist students to determine the right career path, reassess their career objectives, develop a job search strategy, identify career options and job opportunities.
