Unique opportunities

To provide our students with a top class learning experience and opportunities that could really boost their CV, we offer a unique course structure to students studying on our full-time (not placement) courses.

The unique opportunities are available in Year Two which is split into two parts. One half follows standard taught modules then you choose one of the following for your second half year:

  2. Enterprise project
  3. Community project
  4. Internship

1. Study Abroad

Experience life in another country with this exciting option to study at one of our partner universities around the world. Choose from a host of countries in Europe or go further afield and study in the USA, Mexico, Thailand, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan or South Korea. This is a tremendous opportunity to develop your independence and explore another culture.

2. Enterprise project

Explore your entrepreneurial side and start to develop the meaningful and practical skills needed to run your own business. Supported by The Hive, NTU’s enterprise development centre, you’ll work alongside other young entrepreneurs and a dynamic network of mentors and business advisers. As well as developing key management and business skills, you will benefit from interacting with new businesses in an inspiring, supportive setting.

3. Community project

Working with the University’s Students in Free Enterprise team – part of a wider global movement – students use their business skills to help improve their local community in some way. Students come up with their own projects but the idea is that they should aim to improve people’s lives, whether it’s an individual, family or whole neighbourhood.

4. Internship

Put what you have learned into practice and get a taster of industry during a 16 to 18 week work placement. This experience is likely to improve your career prospects while sharpening your interpersonal and professional skills.

5. Taught modules

If you don’t want to take one of the other options, you can simply carry on with taught modules for the rest of the year. This option gives you a greater choice of modules from across the Business School.

Important bit!
Please note that these options are not available to those doing a four-year placement course or those studying on the BA (Hons) Business and Management (In-Company), BA (Hons) Management Studies or any of our top-up courses.
