Toon Clerckx
Finance Director of the Health and Beauty Division, Alliance Boots

Toon joined Alliance Boots in 2010, as Finance Director for the Health and Beauty Division. His role includes responsibility for finance and IT within the Boots retail operations in the UK and Republic of Ireland - with close to 2,500 Boots stores - and the UK-based Boots Opticians practices. He is also responsible for finance within the Group’s contract manufacturing business, BCM.

Prior to joining Alliance Boots, Toon worked in Europe and the US for a number of multi-national organisations including Philips Consumer Electronics, GMAC Financial Services and Exxon Mobile. Most recently, he was Chief Financial Officer for Philips Consumer Lifestyle (North America and Western Europe). He has over 10 years’ experience in the finance sector.

Toon was born in Belgium. He is married with three children, lives in Leicestershire and enjoys reading, travel and sports.

Dr Richard Straub 

After a 32-year international career in IBM that included various executive line and staff positions, Richard Straub in 2006 took on the role as Director of Corporate Services and EU affairs at EFMD, a global network of business schools and corporations, focusing on the quality of management and talent development. In the same year he became secretary general of the European Learning Industry Group (ELIG) and a senior advisor to IBM. In partnership with EFMD and other institutions, he subsequently launched the Peter Drucker Society of Austria in 2008 and in 2010 the Peter Drucker Society Europe - he is president of both. As a thought leader at the intersection of business and academia he is a keynote speaker at international conferences and member of various boards and advisory groups.
