Presenter Profile
Professor Martin Walker has been professor of Finance and Accounting at the University of Manchester since 1989. He was Head of Accounting and Finance from 1990 to 1994. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law from 2000 to 2003, and Deputy Director and Director of Research in the Manchester Business School between 2007 and 2011. Professor Walker has previously held a Chair at the University of Dundee and a Readership at the London School of Economics and Political Science, where he is currently a visiting professor. He received the BAA Distinguished Academic Award in 2008.
He has regularly published in premier academic journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Review of Accounting Studies, Accounting Organisations and Society, The Economic Journal, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, and Accounting and Business Research. He is currently Joint Editor of the Journal of Business Finance and Accounting (JBFA), an international academic journal. He is a member of the Board and the Management Committee of the European Accounting Association, and the Vice-chairman of the ICAEW's Research Advisory Board."
