Position 'a first' for business school

An appointment which will help to strengthen Nottingham Trent University’s commercial links has just been announced. Professor Paul Turner has become the first Executive in Residence of the university’s Nottingham Business School.

The role will involve creating links between large corporations and the School on all aspects of executive and management development. Professor Turner has been a visiting professor at Nottingham Business School for ten years.

Professor Turner was previously President of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for the Convergys Corporation, Employee Care Division. Other roles have included Group HR Business Director for Lloyds TSB and Vice-President of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).

He has worked as a non-executive in both the public and private sector and is the author of HR Forecasting and Planning (2002) and Organisational Communication (2003).

The Dean of Nottingham Business School, Professor Martin Reynolds, said: “This initiative is part of Nottingham Business School’s commitment to connecting with the world of practice, drawing upon the experience of senior business professionals. It will enhance the relevance of our research and courses to our students and clients.”
