Knowledge Transfer Partnership Networking Events (Nov 23 and 24)

Businesses keen to innovate, expand and improve their performance, are being invited to attend events being run by Nottingham Trent University. The University is hosting two networking sessions to show companies in the region how a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) could work for them.

KTPs help organisations improve their competitiveness and productivity through the use of the knowledge, technology and skills found in academic institutions. A three-way partnership is formed between the company, university and graduate, to transfer knowledge through a strategic and challenging project, where all parties benefit. Projects normally run for between two and three years and attract significant government funding.

The events will feature talks by representatives from businesses who have already benefited from a KTP with Nottingham Trent University, including Collis Engineering Ltd of Alfreton, and 3663 First for Foodservice, which has offices at Langley Mill.

Nottingham Trent University’s KTP Manager, Chris Bridges, said:

“Projects can be undertaken in a wide range of areas including product design, manufacturing, technical innovation, business processes and commercial development. We strongly urge local companies to come along to the networking events – businesses that have completed KTP’s in the past have improved their performance and business operations and even seen annual profits rise by more than £200,000.”
