Annual issues in information systems conference
Anti-virus software, online identity theft and biometric security systems were just some of the topics discussed at Nottingham Trent University’s annual ‘Issues in Information Systems Conference’. Students presented group research papers and projects to representatives from a range of major companies including Lloyds TSB, Microsoft, IBM and Ford Motor Company.
Students showcasing their work at the University’s Bass Management Centre were in the final-year of the BA (Hons) Business and Information Systems (BABIS) degree course. The event, now in its 12th year, was sponsored by the BPB Service Centre.
A panel of eight judges from business and academia decided which student team should receive prizes for the best presentations. The winners were Individualism within Virtual Teams across Geographical Boundaries and The Mobile Office: A Technological and Cultural Challenge.
Module leader Liza Pybus said: “The conference offers students a great opportunity to present their views to an interested business audience on issues that organisations are facing daily.”
