Win for university netball team
Nottingham Trent University’s netball squad has just rounded off a week to remember as proud winners of the British University Sports Association (BUSA) Shield. The win makes an impressive addition to a successful season, which includes a convincing victory against local rivals, the University of Nottingham, in last week’s varsity clash.
The 44-36 win over Brunel University came after a hard fought and determined match. The Nottingham Trent University team has commanded nine wins out of the season’s ten matches with an incredible goal scoring total of 665 points, and it was this wealth of talent that saw the side emerge victorious by the end of the BUSA Shield match. Vicki Hounslow, second year Criminology student and top goal scorer in last week’s varsity victory, did a fine job of netting the majority of Nottingham Trent University’s points yet again.
Sitting at the top of the table, the team are now preparing for a play-off match to secure a promotion into Tier One of the BUSA netball leagues.
