Nottingham Trent University is top post-1992 university

Nottingham Trent University has hit the top spot for post-1992 universities in the latest league tables launched today. The Good University Guide, published for the first time in association with The Independent, has seen the University rise from 56th to 52nd, out of a total of 113 higher education UK institutions assessed.

The Good University Guide judges the universities on nine measures including student satisfaction, research assessment, job prospects and spending on facilities. Nottingham Trent University's excellent employability record - which is one of the best in the UK – has been a key factor in this success.

The news caps a great week for the University as latest figures released by UCAS also show it has seen the largest increase in applications to its undergraduate degree courses out of all UK universities.

Nottingham Trent University's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Neil Gorman, said: "To be recognised as the top new university is a great achievement, highlighting the talent and determination of all our staff in ensuring our students leave equipped with the right skills for success.

"We will continue our drive to improve the student experience in order that we maintain our position as the UK's leading new university."
