Unique opportunity for food and drink industry
Food and drink companies are to get a unique opportunity to find out what cutting edge creative industries can do for their business, thanks to an initiative led by Nottingham Trent University.
A special online conference on 27th June, entitled ‘Getting Creative in the Food & Drinks Industry’, is bringing together specialists in the many fields of design, marketing and manufacture who have the skills to make significant differences to food and drink company profits. Nottingham Trent University is the lead partner in the East Midlands New Technology Initiative (NTI) Food & Drink Knowledge Exchange who, together with the NTI Creative Industries Knowledge Exchange, has created the on-line event.
Mike Dixon, from Nottingham Trent University’s School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences will introduce the conference. Businesses can then watch presentations on-line and simultaneously join online discussions with each speaker without leaving their offices and losing valuable production time.
The speakers include Levi Roots, a winner from BBC2’s Dragon’s Den, who will talk about his Reggae Reggae Sauce Company. Other presenters include Andrew Keeble, director of Debbie and Andrew’s, a farm diversification enterprise that has grown from a small cottage industry to the fastest growing brand in fresh chilled sausages; and Jonathan Sands, chairman of brand identity consultancy, Elmwood. The consultancy has won over 100 national and international design awards and is in the top five for all UK awards for identity, literature and packaging design.
Giles Button of Studio 2 Online Ltd, Leicester’s largest web design agency will advise on creating an eCommerce website. James Malbon, from Easibind International, who are graphic and product design consultants, will highlight new opportunities to make products stand out from competitors. Search engine marketing consultants will also demonstrate how to get companies higher up on search engine lists.
After the seminar, additional information and advice will be available to view or download, giving a unique pool of information long after the event has finished.
Mike Dixon said: “We think this is the first conference of its type, bringing together the two disciplines of food and drink and creative industries. Delegates will have the ideal opportunity to access a wide variety of expertise that may prove vital to their profit margins without the need to leave their office.”
