Employability conference goes global
An annual employability conference is bringing together organisations and companies to discuss the recruitment of graduates in the global economy. Following the success of previous conferences that have covered topics such as work-based learning and the challenges of graduate retention, Nottingham Trent University’s Careers Service will host ‘Going Global – Acting Local: Working in a Global Economy’, on Thursday 3rd July at the university’s Clifton campus.
Employers, academics and careers advisers from other UK universities will all gather to hear from a number of speakers - including Christina Kerr, Marketing and International Recruitment Manager for PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and Johnny Dunford, Managing Director of DTZ from the Czech Republic. Nottingham Trent University students and graduates who have spent their placement years abroad, along with non-UK students now working in the UK, will also share their own experiences with the delegates.
Paul Hacking, Head of Nottingham Trent University’s Careers Service, said: “The subjects being discussed at this conference are very topical at the moment. Increasing numbers of graduates from across the world are pursuing ambitious careers overseas, including here in the UK. We aim to bring employers and other organisations together to discuss how we support graduates in their pursuit of roles within the global economy.”
