It is my great pleasure to welcome you to Nottingham Law School. We are one of the largest University Law Schools in the UK, offering an extensive range of highly regarded legal education underpinned by close relationships with the legal profession and informed by applied academic research of both national and international impact.

About Professor Andrea Nollent

Andrea is a graduate in Law from the University of Dundee. She holds a Masters of Jurisprudence from the University of Durham. After working in legal practice, Andrea commenced a career in Higher Education at Sheffield Hallam University where she became Head of Law in 2001. In 2004 she was appointed Assistant Dean of Faculty with responsibility for Business Planning and Resources in a faculty of 10,000 students and an annual budget of £68 million. She was appointed Dean of Nottingham Law School in November 2010.

Andrea has extensive experience of collaborative course development and has designed and managed dual qualifying Law degrees with a range of jurisdictions, particularly France. She is a firm internationalist and is strongly committed to the integration of international opportunities and perspectives for all Law students. She is a fluent in French speaker, and is currently Visiting Professor in Fundamental Human Rights at the University of Paris Est.

Andrea’s research interests include Comparative Law and Legal Education, areas in which she has published widely. She has also undertaken significant contract research projects on Internationalisation through the Prime Ministers Initiatives and the British Council. She has presented at conferences worldwide on student mobility, internationalisation of the curriculum and comparative legal education. As part of her business development roles Andrea has travelled widely in India, China and North America.
