Postgraduate scholarships

Nottingham Law School offer a number of scholarships for our vocational courses and Masters in Law.

These are competitive scholarships, worth up to £2,000 off tuition fees. We normally offer five scholarships for each course, for UK / EU students, on the LPC, BPTC, GDL and LLMs.

In addition we are also offering three further scholarships for 2013 entry to the LPC in:

  • Pro Bono
  • Mooting
  • Commercial Practice

Each one is worth up to £2,000. Terms and conditions apply.

Fully complete the relevant application form below:

Before submitting your application, please ensure:

  • you have received an offer to study on one of the eligible courses
  • that you have read and understood the terms and conditions
  • that you have read and understood the personal statement criteria
  • that you have completed section one of the application form
  • you have completed criteria one and criteria two of section two.

Please return your completed scholarship application form and evidence that you have achieved a 2.1 or above (or equivalent) in your undergraduate degree by sending a copy of your degree certificate or official university transcript to enquiries before the application deadline.

  • Round 1: 30 April 2013 (applicants notified by 21 May 2013)
  • Round 2: 30 July 2013 (applicants notified by 20 August 2013)

Scholarships for International students

NTU student progression discount
If you are a current NTU student and you choose to study the Graduate Diploma in Law full-time, the Legal Practice Course full-time or part-time, or the Bar Professional Training Course, you will automatically receive a £1,000 discount off your tuition fee. If you choose to study one of our Masters in Law (LLMs) you will automatically receive a 10% progression discount off your tuition fee.

  • You do not need to apply for the discount as it will automatically be deducted from your fee before enrolment.
  • You can also apply for scholarship, however the total maximum award will not exceed £2,000.
  • The scheme is not applicable to sponsored students (either partially or fully) and applies to 2012 entry only.
  • The scheme applies only to those students who progress directly onto their vocational or Masters course (i.e. students who graduate in summer 2013 must start their vocational or Masters course in autumn 2013 to qualify for the progression discount).

External scholarships

The Inderpal Rahal Memorial Trust provides up to two awards of £2,000 to enable women who are experiencing financial hardship to further their legal education. The award is designed for women from an immigrant or refugee background who intend to practice or teach law in the UK. Applicants should be undertaking or pursuing the BPTC, LPC, legal research, training contract, pupillage or other legal placement. Please email if you feel you are eligible for consideration.

Career Development Loans
Career Development loans may be available for the LPC and BPTC from the Co-operative Bank and Barclays. Please check their websites for the terms and conditions of these loans.
