Welcome to the Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage (REACH) Staff Network web pages. The REACH Staff Network was set up in February 2017 by a small group of committed NTU colleagues who are passionate about raising the profile of issues of race, ethnicity and cultural heritage at NTU and in our wider community.
REACH aims to advocate for issues relating to race, ethnicity and cultural heritage at NTU, providing a collective and influential voice for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) staff members, and supporting the university and wider community in furthering the equality agenda.
Our membership is open to anyone who shares our values and outlook: wanting to support the advancement of racial equality and celebrating the strengths and achievements of a diverse staff community. We welcome and celebrate the cultural diversity of our membership and we are proud of our histories and cultures.
As a very new Network, we are keen to hear from people who want to take an active role in planning and delivering Network activities as part of our steering group. We are also very happy to hear from anyone who would just like to join our mailing list and be kept informed about what we are doing next. Email us to let us know if you would like to be involved, and at what level.
Although we can’t do everything at once, over time we hope to focus our activities on the following areas: support, education, celebration, consultation, inspiration, staying current and community engagement. For more information download our Terms of Reference
