Research Excellence Framework (REF 2014)

The quality of UK research is assessed nationally and informs the selective distribution of public funds for research by the four UK higher education funding bodies. The Research Excellence Framework (REF) will be completed by HEIs in 2014 and has replaced the previous Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).

The university will undergo this assessment process of expert review to demonstrate its research quality profile in terms of outputs (65%), impact (20%) and environment (15%).
