Research Centres
The School has established centres in three of its main areas of research interest:
- The Centre for Business and Insolvency Law (led by David Burdette) concentrates on private law interests, and includes corporate law, insolvency law, commercial law, partnership law, intellectual property law, and employment law.
- The Centre for Legal Education (led by Jane Ching / Rebecca Huxley-Binns) includes best practice in teaching and learning and development in relation to undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing professional legal education.
- The Centre for Conflict, Rights and Justice (headed by Tom Lewis) includes staff working in human rights, transitional justice, criminal law, international criminal justice, and criminology.
In addition, there are less formal research clusters in areas including Sports Law, Health Care Law, European Private Law and Property Law.
The work of the centres, together with wider research activities, is supported by the Director of Research, Professor Rebecca Parry, together with the School’s Research Committee.
