The School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences invites applications from well qualified candidates, who have or expect to graduate with good first degrees or Masters level qualifications, to undertake doctoral studies in a range of the School’s subject areas.
The School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences is located at the NTU Brackenhurst Campus. It supports a growing postgraduate community which benefits from the support of the NTU Graduate School in addition to the subject specialist support from within the School. We invite applications for excellent projects in the following research areas:
- human-animal interactions
- environmental issues
- animal health and welfare
In addition, applications are invited for specific projects in:
- freshwater invertebrate ecology
- health and environmental hazards
- poultry science
National and international collaborations and involvement in worldwide projects ensure the global significance of much of the research carried out within this School.

The studentships will pay UK / EU fees and provide a maintenance stipend linked to the RCUK rate (£13,590 per annum for 2012 / 13) for up to three years.
