Supported by an advisory board of construction clients and supply chain companies, the Centre for Lean Projects offers you a wide range of short courses and training opportunities. Courses ranges from short continuing professional development presentations, webinars and one-day events through to one-week intensive blocks. All are conveniently held at our City site. Courses can also be tailored to your requirements and delivered at your company if preferred. Consultancy services by specialist Lean Project professionals is also available. Forget Orange Wednesdays - we now have Lean Wednesdays!

These short Wednesday evening sessions and webinars are available to book.

  • Introduction to Lean Design – shows how project environments move outside the Toyota Production System model and incorporate upstream design activities with the importance of defining the value proposition.
  • Measuring Lean Maturity – understanding how assessing the maturity of your Lean practices is essential to releasing the efficiency of Lean thinking within your company or enterprise.
  • People in Projects – an overview of change management in a Lean context and why the underlying mind set is a vital component within temporary or transient project environments. This presentation questions the consequences of collaborative enterprises over the long term and introduces the concept of language action.
  • Introduction to Lean Leadership – the leadership agenda in a Lean enterprise turns traditional management thinking upside down. Lean leaders understand how focusing on production delivers quality and efficiency.
  • Extreme Lean Construction – transforming construction into a modern process of assembly using pulse-driven scheduling, off-site manufacturing, logistics and ergonomics.
  • Introduction to Lean Commercial Management – examples of innovative practices that have overturned some of the barriers of traditional commercial management are presented against a new context in construction.
