Social Policy Research

Social policy research encapsulates a diverse range of research activity which brings together academics engaged in policy-orientated research and consultancy on behalf of a wide range of public, voluntary and private sector organisations.

The focus of this research activity centres around the identification and understanding of policy problems, the formulation of policy responses to policy issues, the implementation and delivery of policy initiatives, and the evaluation of policy impact. Members of the research team are drawn from a range of academic disciplines and backgrounds, and have direct experience of both working in, and undertaking research for, central government departments and agencies, local authorities, the NHS, the police and criminal justice agencies as well as voluntary and community sector organisations.
