Education
Research and development activities are integral to us at the School of Education. Our teaching and research are mutually inclusive and we aim to foster a dynamic culture of critique, challenge and cooperation.
Our staff possess a diverse range of research expertise and experience, with a broad and evolving focus on vocationally-related and professional issues within an education context.
We focus in particular on participatory and collaborative research carried out with the communities and organisations - such as schools, businesses, local authorities and government agencies - that we serve. A number of thriving research and development communities are active in the School, and individual members of staff are engaged in a wide variety of activities.
We also have an active research seminar programme with a range visiting speakers, providing research staff and postgraduate research students with the opportunity to share knowledge and ideas.
All of our research is enriched by connections with visiting fellows and professors, and thriving links with international partners. Our sponsors include:
- DfES,
- QCA
- Lincolnshire TEC
- The Times 100
- Nottingham City Council
- The Heritage Lottery Fund
- The European Union
- Nottingham Creative Partnerships.
We work closely with the TDA (Training and Development Agency) and our research helps to inform government policy.
