Facilities

We pride ourselves on providing the best possible facilities for our students. Research students at NTU enjoy resources featuring workspaces and IT equipment as well as state-of-the-art research facilities.

Our School of Science and Technology is host to world-leading research facilities including the Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Centre, the Natural Sciences Research Centre, the Imaging and Display Research Facility and the Van Geest Cancer Research Centre; for physiological and sport related research the School boasts an Environmental Chamber capable of replicating extreme environmental conditions. A new Superlab facility (due to open Summer 2012) will provide extensive research laboratories and will contain high specification equipment and facilities to support innovation projects for a wide range of industry clients.

The School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences boasts a state-of-the-art greenhouse, Veterinary Nursing Centre and Animal Unit.

The Schools of Art and Design and Architecture, Design and the Built Environment feature a wide range of appropriate resources and equipment which includes several specialist archives, two well equipped gallery spaces, recording studio spaces, darkrooms and many specialist studios and laboratories, and the latest software packages.

Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Law School and the School of Social Sciences all have dedicated areas within the University. Nottingham Business School moved to the newly regenerated Newton Building in late 2009. Nottingham Law School and the School of Social Sciences are situated in the recently refurbished Chaucer building which boasts mock court rooms and a dedicated suite of new Psychology facilities including laboratories. Research students from the Schools of Business, Law and Social Sciences are situated in the Chaucer building, where they have access to dedicated postgraduate student space and facilities.

Research students in the School of Arts and Humanities and School of Education benefit from a dedicated research area within the CELS building on the Clifton Campus. The area offers a quiet workspace, computer facilities, AV equipment and a shared staff and student common room.

The University has extensive knowledge resources and library facilities providing access to literature and electronic resources. Research students also have access to library collections at other universities across the UK.

The Nottingham Trent University Graduate School has two main administrative offices located in the Chaucer building on the City site and the CELS building on the Clifton campus.
