3D Additive Manufacturing

3D Additive Manufacturing Facilities

With the increased use of computer aided design, practitioners often have a small scale model made before production begins. This is both to ensure the integrity of their designs and to help produce the full size models.

The School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment has a wide range of 3D printing resources and also includes a materials printing resource. The 3D printers allow users to create 3D models of their designs, utilising a diversity of materials at different resolutions and to suit a variety of product design applications.

Our materials deposition printer is used extensively for the fabrication of electronic circuits and devices. Our 3D printing machines are optimised for speed, relative low cost and ease of use. This makes them suitable for visualising designs during the conceptual stages of design.
