Sport Science
The Sport team address current and contemporary issues within sport, exercise and physical activity alongside industry relevant experiences of sport and leisure management. Interactive learning environments covering key aspects of science, namely biomechanics, physiology and psychology are provided. Vocational learning experiences, including work placements and consultancy opportunities, underpin aspects of sport and leisure management such as strategic analysis and implementation, sport marketing, event management, finance and economics, communication and creativity and human resource management and legalities.
The Sport team are professionally accredited by The Institute of Leisure and Amenity Management (ILAM) to Advanced Diploma level on the Sport and Leisure Management pathway. Since the amalgamation of the governing bodies, the Institute of Sports, Parks and Leisure (ISPAL) will offer accreditation and the Sport and Leisure Management Pathway will be forwarded for accreditation as and when the criteria has been published by ISPAL. Meanwhile, our Sport and Exercise Science degree will be put forward for consideration by British Association of Sport and Exercise Science (BASES) for endorsement.
