BSc Computer Science (Games Technology) - A tour guide agent in a simulated environment using a video game engine - Andrew Daniel
Student using interactive simulation
Andrew Daniel, BSc Computer Science (Games Technology) developed an interactive simulation using the Unreal 3 Engine (as used in Gears of War 2 and Bioshock). Based on Green’s Windmill in Sneinton, Nottingham, the game teaches players how a windmill creates flour from grain in a fun and interactive way.

The simulation was based on work by a previous student and was greatly enhanced and improved by Andrew. He studied the workings of a windmill and created a narrative for the player to follow. This exposes all of the windmill’s functions and allows the player to interact with them. Andrew will be working at IBM on a graduate scheme for two years and then hopes to join a top video game developer studio to create the next greatest game.
