Serious Games - making games for a serious purpose - Turkey shoot game



The Serious Games module allows students to use skills developed on their course to work with industry to develop a solution for a problem. Students work in small groups to produce a games based solution which is demonstrated to tutors at the end of the module.
The Turkey Shoot game aims to help in the rehabilitation process for people recovering from strokes. This is a 2-player game where one player uses and improves their fine-motor skills using keyboard controls and the other player develops their gross motor skills with the mouse control. This game went on to be tested by researchers working with the UK Stroke Rehabilitation Network. Students working on this project are Jin Feng, Waqas Zafar, Fouzia Kosur and Alliya Akhtar.
