In his final year project, Gregoire Chabrol used sophisticated electrodeposition techniques to created highly water-repellent surfaces, which he then characterised using a scanning electron microscope (see images). These surfaces are highly water repellent, as can be seen from the images where the water droplets are almost spherical.
