MSc Physics - Sensitive quartz microbalance - Jeremy Simons
Porcine semen
During his MSci research project, Jeremy Simons helped develop a sensitive quartz microbalance, which was sensitive to very small changes in mass. This was then incorporated into a device for measuring the swimming speed of porcine semen – an essential measurement in the farm industry where artificial insemination is common practice.
