Microbacterial analysis

We can perform antibacterial testing to international standards of clothing and other materials with test organisms including E.coli and MRSA.

These tests include:

  • BS 6085:1992 standard for determining levels of deterioration of textiles to fungus
  • AATCC 147 test method for Antibacterial Assessment of Textile Materials: Parallel Streak Method
  • SNV195 920:1994 test method for antibacterial properties of textiles
  • Investigating the contamination of products by unknown micro-organisms utilising microscopy and biochemical expertise to identify organisms

The depth and breadth of our expertise provide us with the capability to suggest sources of contamination. In addition, bespoke testing of materials and microbial elimination methods can be tailor to match specific customer’s needs.

Where novel mechanisms of microbial elimination have been developed we have provided support in analysing speed and efficacy of elimination of a range of species to match the customer’s requirements, as well as providing advice on choice of species and method of testing.

To discuss your specific requirements in detail, please contact Gordon Arnott at SS2i or call us on +44(0)115 848 8665
