Foundation

The Division of Guidance, Youth Studies and Youth Justice offers a Foundation Degree (FdA) in Youth Justice. This course is tailored specifically for those who have a particular interest in working with young people who offend, or who are at risk of offending.

Following successful completion, graduates of the Foundation Degree (or equivalent) can progress on to our one year honours degree award - BA (Hons) Youth Justice. This will allow students to top-up their qualification by gaining a deeper understanding of the subject.

The School has a long established relationship with the Youth Justice Board which supports the programme outcomes as being appropriate for those wishing to work in youth justice.

This foundation degree has been awarded the Skillsmark endorsement. This quality mark is awarded to recognise those providers whose programmes are of high quality and meet the needs of employers in the justice sector.
