Lee Westwood Sports Centre Sports facilities
The Lee Westwood Sports Centre houses a numerous amount of sports facilities since its extension in summer 2010.
The main sporting areas are as follows:
- Main Sports Hall - A multi-purpose double sports hall with viewing gallery - suitable for a variety of sports including badminton, volleyball and five-a-side football.
- Astro-turf Pitch - A fully floodlit sand based all weather pitch, suitable for football and hockey.
- Squash Courts - Three brand new glass backed squash courts suitable for all standards of play from beginner to elite competition.
- Exercise Studio - An exercise studio to cater for all your exercise class needs. Please see the current Clifton class timetable
for details. - Sports Hall Two - An enormous open space suitable for a variety of activities including cheerleading, fencing and a variety of martial arts disciplines.
- Grass Pitches - There is a combination of grass pitches for football, rugby and cricket (in the summer).
The centre also houses the:
- High Performance Centre - A purpose built area to provide an innovative range of equipment and techniques to assist with the development of our athletes.
- Sports Science Laboratory - A research and performance testing facility to aid the continued progression of our athletes.
- Sports Therapy Clinic - Support services including physiotherapy, sports massage, psychology and nutritional advice all available from this one stop shop.
- Nutrition Centre- Intended to help elite athletes deal with complex and precise dietary requirements.
- Seminar Room - A classroom based facility suitable for up to 20 people, kitted out with the latest presentation equipment.
Additionally, upstairs office spaces house the NTU Sport and Lifestyle team and Sport Nottinghamshire - the County Sports Partnership for Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, both teams being devoted to developing high quality sporting opportunities within Nottingham.
