Duke of Edinburgh Award
The Duke of Edinburgh Award is one of the most well recognised awards in the country. The entire syllabus is designed to help you develop as a person and have a positive impact on the world around you.
The Sport and Lifestyle Department have teamed up with the Students' Union to make the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award available to NTU students.
To gain the award you will need to complete the five sections. Each link directs you to the Duke of Edinburgh Award website that provides further information on each section.
The scheme is open to any NTU student under the age of 25. It does involve a commitment but it is something which is completely achievable and looks great on your CV.
When you have finished the award you get to go to a Gold Award Presentation at a Royal Palace in the presence of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh or HRH the earl of Wessex!
Do you already take part in a sports club? This can count for your physical activity.
Are you on some kind of committee? This can count for the volunteering or skill.
This is not to say the award is easy, far from it, but you may already be doing many of the things which count towards it so why not get some extra recognition for your efforts and do something which will push you to do more?
There are limited places on the expedition each year but we can have any number of people doing the award and completing the other sections at any one time.
