Nottingham Trent Men's Hockey First XI are one of the top university hockey teams in the country with recent success including a runner up placing at the BUCS Championship. NTU is working in partnership with Beeston Hockey Club and England Hockey to create a first class performance-based environment, offering excellence in education and career development. NTU is proud to be offering four men's hockey scholarships on a yearly basis.
All NTU Men’s Hockey Scholars receive a comprehensive support package that includes:
- a £500 financial bursary payment to help towards payment of annual club and weekly match fees (team must compete in England Hockey National League)
- free NTU Sports and Fitness membership
- specialised strength and conditioning support
- access to sports physiotherapy and massage services
- nutrition and lifestyle support including practical workshops
- the assignment of a performance support manager
- access to educational support and opportunities for academic flexibility and / or part time study
- a hockey scholarship kit.

East Midlands National Performance Centre
Nottingham Trent University is part of England Hockey’s National Performance Centre in the East Midlands and helps to support current and aspiring international hockey players.
As an NPC the University works alongside England Hockey to provide high quality coaching and specific strength and conditioning programmes in excellent training facilities. Athletes selected on the NPC are also supported with physiotherapy, lifestyle and medical support provided by NTU.
