International student enrolment

As well as completing online enrolment you will need to provide the following documents to demonstrate your eligibility to study at NTU.

You will need to provide originals of the following.

EEA students

  • You will need to provide your current passport or travel document.

Non EEA students

  • You will need to provide your current passport or travel document.
  • You will also need to provide proof of your right to study at NTU (for example, your Tier 4 Visa with NTU sponsor licence number).

If you do not have these documents, because you are still in the process of applying for your visa, you must provide evidence of your visa application. We will expect to see a letter from the Home Office confirming the receipt of your application.

If you have not made your application for a relevant visa document when you arrive at NTU you will immediately be required to make an application through the University Batch Scheme. PDF icon

Where can I provide these documents?

Your academic School may have arranged an enrolment and document collection session as part of the course induction. If so, details will be included in any induction information provided by the academic School and you should bring your documents to the scheduled session. Your documents will be copied and immediately returned to you.

If your course induction does not include an enrolment and document collection session, please take your documents to the Student Services Centre, Newton building (open 9 am - 5 pm Monday - Thursday and 9 am - 4.30 pm on Fridays).

If you do a Pre-sessional English for Academic Purposes course the Language Centre will arrange an enrolment session as part of your induction. You should bring your documents to this enrolment session.

What if I don't provide my documents?

You must provide these documents in order to be fully enrolled at the University. If you have not fully enrolled soon after the start of your course we will email you reminding you of this requirement. Your access to University facilities, such as the library and computer access to your timetable and other online resources may be suspended until you have fully enrolled. You may also be reported to the UK Border Agency for failing to meet the conditions of your leave to remain in the UK, and your leave may subsequently be curtailed.
