Police registration
Nationals of certain countries and territories must register with the police upon arrival in the UK. Check in your passport (your entry clearance sticker) to see if the requirement to register with the police has been endorsed. If so, you and any dependants (aged 16 or over) must register within seven days of arrival in the UK. If you are from one of the following countries, you will need to register with the police:
- Afghanistan, Argentina, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan
- Bahrain, Belarus, Bolivia, Brazil
- China, Cuba, Columbia
- Egypt
- Georgia
- Iran, Israel, Iraq
- Jordan
- Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Kuwait
- Lebanon, Libya
- Moldova, Morocco
- North Korea
- Oman
- Palestine, Peru
- Qatar
- Russia
- Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Syria
- Tajikistan, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan
- United Arab Emirates, Ukraine, Uzbekistan
- Yemen.
You can register at the Central Police Station in Nottingham, which is on the corner of Shakespeare Street and North Church Street in the centre of the City campus. You must take your passport, two recent passport-size photos and £34 in cash. You must always inform the police within seven days of any change of address or any other change in your circumstances, and if you have extended your permission to stay in the UK.
